Grooms And Ushers
The men may be seen anything from a tuxedo to a suit
usually depending on the season of the wedding and the
formality. The groom will not usually decide on his attire
until the bride has decided on the style of dress that she
will be wearing. If the bride has deiced to wear a short
dress with a jacket then the groom's suit should be dark
in colour and be semi-formal. However if the bride has
chosen to wear a dress that is very formal, then the groom
too should be dressed formally. Be sure to go to many
men's formal wear shops when you start to look for the
groom's suit. This way you will be able to get many
different estimates, which is helpful because the groom's
suit is usually a rental. When deciding which store you
are going to rent from base your final decision on their
willingness to make suggestions, the level of service, and
the cost to make alterations.
If you are planning on having a very formal daytime
wedding, the most popular suit is the morning suit. This
includes either black or grey cutaway coat with striped
grey or black trousers and a grey waistcoat. Underneath
the groom wears a formal white shirt with a wing collar. A
more casual day time wedding would suggest that the groom
wears a grey or black stroller or sack coat with a Grey
waistcoat and striped trousers. Underneath he would wear a
white shirt with a turned-down collar and French cuffs.
The style of attire worn for a formal late afternoon
wedding is known as the 'black tie'. This suit is a black,
grey, or midnight blue in colour containing matching
trousers. The shirt usually worn with this suit is a white
turned-down collar with french cuffs. You can wear this
style with cuffs or a cumberbund. Weddings often vary from
formal to semi-formal to casual therefore there are many
styles of suits such as dark solid coloured suits to dark
trousers and a sports jacket. If your wedding is being
held in the summer you can have of the option of wearing a
white jacket with black trousers and a cummerbund or white
trousers with a grey or light-coloured jacket. Plain white
tuxedos are becoming more and more popular.
It is important that the ushers wear coordinates with that
of the groom. If you are to purchase or rent the usher's
suits from the same shop this will ensure that your
wedding party coordinates. The bow ties, cummerbunds are
often the same colour of the bride's maid's dresses or are
somehow linked to them. Fathers will often wear a tuxedo
or a suit of their choice. Many tuxedo rental places will
carry a large selection of suits. It is important that you
arrange for a final fitting and pick-up date at the time
of the rental. |
