Wedding Etiquette
Wedding etiquette
is important when planning your special day. If the reception
is following a ceremony that was before one o'clock it
is called a breakfast, now the gathering following a ceremony
that had been held after one o'clock is called the reception.
There is a receiving line at a very formal reception or
breakfast. If you have decided to hold a less formal party
the bride and groom may feel like greeting guests by mingling
with them. If you decide to do this it is very important
that you take the time to talk to all the guests so that
know one feels forgotten.
The traditional wedding drink is champagne, which is used
for making toasts although it is important to also have
non-alcoholic drinks served.
The toast to the bride and groom is given by the best
man or some one close to the couple. They may choose to
have an original toast or they may decide to say something
along the lines of, "Here's health and happiness
to the loveliest of brides and the luckiest of grooms."
The couple is then to remain seated while the other guests
and wedding party stands to raise their glasses to the
toast. The groom would then thank everyone from his bride
and himself, however if the bride feels it necessary she
too can join her husband in the reply. The toast can be
given at any time during the reception or also before
or after the cake has been cut. |
