Videography
Using video is a great way to capture all the memories of
your wedding. Do not use the video to replace a
photographer it is simply used as another way to preserve
the memories of your special day.
You will find that many of your guests will bring their
personal video cameras and record certain parts of your
ceremony and the reception. However, a videographer will
be with you the entire day therefore, they will be able to
capture all the aspects of your wedding.
Another advantage of a videographer is that they have
access to an editing studio. This will give them the
ability to take many hours of footage and cut it into a
watchable format for your friends and family to enjoy.
Before selecting your videographer find out how long they
have been in the business for and ask to see examples of
other weddings that the have completed in the past. It is
important that your videograper and photographer work well
together you do not want any quarrels during your wedding.
You might suggest giving the number of your photographer
to your videographer so they could work out a schedule;
this will help to keep things flowing smoothly on your
wedding day.
Be sure to inform your videographer on what aspects of
your wedding are most important to you and your fiancé.
This will be helpful to him/her when preparing the final
product. Include in your contract how many cameras you
want used and what they will cover. This may include the
bride's home, the groom's home, the reception, or the
ceremony.
You may want to see if the raw footage would be available
for you to use as candid shots or for personal meaning. An
excellent gift for your parents or relatives could be a
copy of your wedding video. Your videographer will be able
to prepare extra copies of the video for you if necessary;
you may also want to see if they can prepare copies in a
foreign format if you have relatives from a different
country.
