Bridesmaids' Attire
The hardest thing about deciding on bridesmaids' dresses
is finding the perfect style that will accommodate all
shapes and sizes. If you decided on dresses that are made
to order it is important that you leave enough time to do
the ordering.
Just like when shopping for your wedding gown it is
important to shop at many different stores and see all
kinds of variety before making your final decision. To
check out styles and designs look through fashion and
bridal magazines. Always keep in mind the time of year
that your wedding is taking place. If you should happen to
come across a design that you like be sure to bring it
with when you go shopping; this will help to give the
salesperson an idea of the style of dresses you are
looking for.
You should take the time to talk to your bridesmaids to
find out the budget that you have to work with and to see
if they have any ideas on what they would like to wear.
You need to be considerate towards your bridesmaids; it is
important to stick to their budget and not add last minute
extras. If you have bridesmaids that live out of town be
sure to send them clippings so they have an idea of the
style that you are deciding on.
You may want to consider using the same fabric only in
different styles or incorporate different colours if your
bridesmaids are all
of different build. The mixing of colours within the
bridal party can have a very appealing look if done
properly. There are many accessories that you can include
in your bridesmaids' outfits. Some of these include hats,
gloves, jewelry and dyed satin shoes. You may have the
bridesmaids wear plain black or white leather shoes, this
giving them the chance to wear them again. If not there
are many stores that will dye satin shoes for a second
time at an extra price.
You may want to take the time to consult a seamstress so
that you can have a dress recreated that you have seen in
a magazine. This is not necessarily more expensive, just
be sure to look around to find some one who is experienced
and offers a good price. Have different fabrics
recommended before making a final decision, the cost of
the dress will depend on how difficult it is to work with
the material you have decided on.
Another option is to look through women's clothing stores
and bridal boutique that offer special occasion lines.
These dresses can often be worn on more then one occasion
and if they are purchased out of season they are often
less expensive. |
