Bride's Attire
The most important thing to do before you start looking
for your wedding dress is to have in mind the style of
wedding you are having and the budget that you have. It is
always a good idea to tell the salesperson what your
budget is at the beginning. Therefore you will be able to
take your business elsewhere if they do not accept it. The
way that the store treats their customers will often
reflect on how your dress will be taken care of.
You can start looking through fashion and bridal magazines
for different styles that are appealing to you. If you
find styles of dresses that you like you can bring the
magazines with you shopping as a reference. Look for
information on upcoming bridal shows. These will help you
because they often have fashion shows and provide sample
dresses upon which you can look.
When you start shopping you should remember that this gown
is going to be the most beautiful dress that you have ever
worn. To receive honest advice it would be a good idea to
take your maid of honour, mother or a close family friend
with you.
It is always important to remember that you will wear your
wedding dress for more than twelve hours, so keep in mind
your weight, height, and body shape. You want to make sure
the gown you purchase is comfortable. Be thinking of the
season, if it is summer or spring make sure the fabric is
lighter, or heavier material if it is winter or fall. You
should always remember when choosing your dress that the
more layers you use the hotter your dress is going to be.
When trying on the sample dress if you do not feel
extremely comfortable, talk to the consultant about
replacing the material with a lighter cooler fabric. Make
sure that you match your veil, headpiece, or hat with the
dress that you have decided on. If you are unable to wear
your dress when you're purchasing your veil and headpiece,
it is a good idea to bring a picture of your dress and
wear a blouse with a similar neckline.
Before your wedding you need to have at least two proper
fittings. It is important to wear your shoes, bra, and any
other lingerie, to help make sure your dress has been
altered properly. After you buy your shoes walk around in
the house with them so that they are worn in for the
wedding. It is also a good idea to scruff the bottom of
the shoes with sand paper so that they are not so slippery
when you are walking down the aisle. |
